1994-1995: AM General gets additional contracts for production of 1200 and 8800 until 2000 HMMWV's.

With the decline of car sales in the luxury segment (caused by the credit crunch) is the brand no longer profitable for GM. On June 2, 2009 is General Motor announced that Hummer will be taken over by the Chinese car company Tengzhong Sichuan.
2010: General Motors is on February 24 announced that the agreement with the Chinese car company Sichuan Tengzhong not continue. This mark disappears 'Hummer'. The Humvee will however continue to be producednse.

 Dakar-Rally

 

In 2006 and 2007 edition of the Dakar Rally Robby Gordon took part in a Hummer H3 buggy. In 2006 he fell out but still he won a stage. In 2007 he won a stage and he was eighth in the standings.
